Training for present and future customers
Each Becker Industrial Coatings operating company has a long-term commitment to competitive excellence: excellence in working with customers to pinpoint their needs, excellence in product design, in environmental concern, in manufacture, delivery and after-sales service. This in turn demands excellence from suppliers and staff.
Customer training
Training is not just for Beckers' employees. Just as more Beckers' staff now make bridges to customers, so, for a truly effective partnership, more customer staff need to understand Beckers and coatings technology. Some examples:
- In France and in Sweden, Beckers managers provide the faculty for a twice-yearly customer training symposium covering everything from the nature of paint and its testing, through colour theory and colorimetry to paint application and remedying defects. These are so professional and popular that customers pay to attend!
- Staff of UK coil coaters attend training sessions looking in depth (and with humour!) at different coating types, coating chemistry and coating technology.
- Beckers colour stylists and other plastic coatings staff provide regular training programmes for OEMs and applicators across the world.
Student training
Customers of the future are not neglected, either. Becker Industrial Coatings' staff in many countries work with trade association and universities to ensure that the designers and architects of the future realise the potential of coatings in building, transport and construction projects.
